Thanks to the vision of the new CHP ownership group called Singletree Equestrian LLC, made up of a group of equine veterinarians from Littleton Equine Veterinary Hospital in Littleton, a 501c3 non-profit organization called Bayou Gulch Open Space Initiative (BGOSI) was formed. This community of representatives comes from a variety of equestrian disciplines such as; Combined Driving, Eventing, 4-H, Fox Hunting, Pony Club, Dressage, Trail Riding; with an interest in the Bayou Gulch Open Space to ensure that the open space park meets the needs of the equestrian community.
Singletree Equestrian LLC, has generously donated the existing cross-country jumps to BGOSI, setting the stage for the Starter through Modified divisions at the Bayou Gulch Horse Trials 2024. All of the original cross country jumps as well as the new jumps will be stewarded by BGOSI.
The jumps and obstacles are only available to jump and utilize during scheduled educational activities such as clinics and schooling days; as well as during competitions. Follow our Facebook page for the most up to date information and events.
BGOSI is a 501 (c)3 non-profit and all donations are tax deductible. Your contribution will not only enrich the Bayou Gulch Cross Country Jumps and Horse Trials, but also contribute to the enduring legacy of equestrian excellence in the region.
For those riding the course this year and in the years to come, as well as those cherishing memories at CHP, your help is needed! Visit the HOW TO HELP tab to learn more about how you can contribute and become apart of this exciting endeavor.
Eventing at The Colorado Horse Park (CHP), formerly known as “High Prairie Farms”, began in the early 1990s with Helen Krieble’s purchase of the property, tasking Judith Burk to head a team for the first High Prairie Farms Horse Trials. The NAJYRC later returned to CHP again in 2016. David O’Connor transformed eventing at CHP in 2006, leading up to its purchase in 2014. The facility boasts seven all-weather competition arenas and hosted three yearly competitions, including the annual CCI*/CCI2*/CIC2* competitions, culminating in a national level event with the American Eventing Championships in 2018.
